Responsibilities
- Supervise daily operations, ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures.
- Lead, train, and mentor team members to enhance performance and productivity.
- Monitor workflow and implement strategies to optimize efficiency.
- Conduct regular inspections of operational processes to identify areas for improvement.
- Participates with the leadership team to create current and long-range objectives and operating plans and associated metrics for measuring results.
- Works with the leadership team to create and finalize operating budgets.
- Under the direction of the General Manager, plans and executes new operational initiatives, ensuring communication and collaboration throughout the entire Yard.
- Address any issues or conflicts that arise within the team promptly and effectively.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote a safe working environment.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of supervisory or management experience, preferably working up from entry level in a service-based organization.
- 2+ years of experience in an operations role.
- Clean driver’s abstract and a valid driver’s license is required.
- Service or route-based industry experience preferred (to support understanding of dispatching concepts and logistics and how field service operations work).
- Strong computer skills and commitment to using available software to improve operating efficiency (preferably Fleetio, Samsara and/or Service Core).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong customer service orientation.
- Ability to roll up sleeves and lead by example.
